Midtown 4-6th grade boys
Walgreens One-on-one program (ONE)
The One-on-One Program creates an early foundation of good study habits, along with organizational and goal-setting skills that support future academic success.
During the school year boys attend Midtown twice a week for two hours on Mondays and Wednesdays.
One day a week they play sports and receive 1.5 hours of individual one-on-one tutoring designed to help with study skills, test-taking, personal goal achievement and more. Tutoring days end with a brief character talk.
The other day of the week, students play sports and receive supplemental instruction in reading and math from professional, certified teachers. Students must participate in tutoring in order to take these classes.
The summer program is five weeks of hands-on academic, competitive sports, field trips, character education and fun! Students attend program daily for four academic classes (math, science, reading, Spanish), a sports period that fosters an instructional, character-based, and competitive learning environment. Students also attend a field trip once a week.
