Out of 6,000 non-profits in the city of Chicago, MEF ranks among the top 33 educational non-profits carefully selected by the Mayor's office through One Good Deed Chicago. OGDC is a special initiative that acknowledges the good work of deserving organizations who support the educational development of youth in literacy and readiness for high school, college, and careers. By invigorating the spirit of volunteerism in Chicago, they hope to increase the overall impact on our youth.

Help make the 'sun shine' in our community by sharing why you love the work that Midtown and Metro does for Chicago's youth. The Chicago Sun-Times Charity Trust "Sun Shine Project" will award up to $500,000 in grants to support worthy charities. However, the Trust wants to hear from YOU (the community) before selecting the winner. Please vote and comment in support of Midtown and Metro before October 9th!
**Voting is now closed for the Sunshine Project. We are awaiting the final decision on November 7, 2011.
